My name is Rita Rahimi (formerly known as Ramin Rahimi) And PASSION is a series of digital portrait arts created while I was in denial of my transgender identity!

I was born in the Islamic Republic of Iran, a repressive gender apartheid regime that strictly enforces Islamic gender roles. I was sent to boys school for 12 years where they shaved my head and brainwashed me into becoming a straight boy.

As I struggled to comprehend my nuanced sense of empathy for the female gender, I began outlining my ideas on the digital canvas.

Idealized female figures, an emphasis on accuracy and realistic proportions, and constrained color palettes are compulsive choices that have characterized my work for as long as I was in denial.

Only now after many years I can recognize all these images as self portraits. They functioned as visual cues from my repressed mind. Encouraging me to come to terms with my gender identity. And effectively helping me to self realise against extreme denial and life crippling phobias.

Passion is about subconscious inspiration and self realization through art.
